What Lacuna is

Short, practical primers on the general-purpose skills every curriculum quietly assumes you'll pick up somewhere else — money, contracts, negotiation, your own habits, reading your own lab results. Each topic is broken into parts you can read in a few minutes, written to be actually enjoyable, and ends with a cheat sheet you'll genuinely reuse.

The test every topic must pass: one week later, can you still explain the core idea to a friend at dinner without checking your notes? If not, it gets rewritten.

Why everything costs $1

Online education mostly runs on two models: free content that's really an ad, or a $199 course with a countdown timer. We don't like either. A dollar is enough that we answer to readers instead of advertisers, and small enough that "should I buy this?" is never a real question.

How topics get made

Who's behind it

A small team that got tired of the gap between what education costs and what it covers. We keep the operation lean on purpose — no ads, no investors pushing engagement metrics, no selling your reading habits. Just topics, a dollar each.
